Todays youth are crumbling under an incredible amount of pressure motivated by societies toxic environment. Youth need healthy reinforcements. The Justin L. Davis Foundation turns its Tragedy into a Triumph. Dr. Denise Wilkins affectionately known as Ms. Denise was born in Montclair, New Jersey, and was raised in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. From age 9 years old, Ms. Denise suffered rejection, and abandonment that led her to fall into years of depression. At the age of 34, Ms. Denise faced suicide. Alone one evening at the peak of despair, ready to end it all she was saved. She encountered a supernatural vision and the voice of God who confirmed in her that there are no failures in Him. That night began her spiritual journey. She spent the next 30 years working in the communities as a leader to the inner-cities of Washington, DC and the Alexandria, Virginia area.
Ms. Denise lost her youngest son in February 2010 and reestablished her 501(c)3 from JTSCCON, to Justin L. Davis Foundation in 2014. Today, Ms. Denise resides in Houston, Texas. She is the Founder/ President/ Director of the Justin L. Davis Foundation, a prevention, intervention and solution driven organization. She is also, the CEO of Black Lights Performing Arts Company (BLPAC) which is an arts company that gives youth a platform to impact their peers. The current project is the stage play production, "Black Light Shining in the Darkness" Coming to the Cullen Theater, at the Wortham Center on Saturday, September 3, 2022 7:00 PM. Ms. Denise is an innovator, trailblazer, and trendsetter who has provided a plethora of creative projects and programs to the under-served community of youth ages 12-24. |
